The Chivo (which means “goat” en español) is named after our favorite golf course in the world: Goat Hill Park. Located in the heart of Oceanside, it’s a place that embodies everything we love about the North County lifestyle - no rules, no dress code, no worries. Just good friends, good walks, and good times. The track is fun but challenging (they don’t call it Goat Hill for nothing), but our favorite part is that dogs are not only welcome, but are a quintessential part of the goat hill experience.
Goat Hill is golf as it should be - raw, authentic, soulful. Everyone’s welcome, the vibes are high, and their motto says it all: World Class/Working Class. We built the Chivo with Goat Hill in mind, and spent 18 months testing it on those unforgiving hills, dialing in the fit, materials, and the traction until it felt just right.
The name Chivo is also a nod to one of our favorite surf breaks Punta Chivo, one of many immaculate sand bottom righthand point breaks just outside of Salina Cruz, Mexico. It’s known for its picturesque, jagged rock formations at the top of the point, and the racing barrel section along the inside sand bank. The Salina Cruz coastline is riddled with fun surf, but this place stands out as one of the most raw, wild, and unforgettable. Just like Goat Hill.
